Hiring – Finance Officer

JOB TITLE: FINANCE OFFICER
LOCATION: WORK FROM ANYWHERE (IN COLORADO)
REPORTS TO: CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
STATUS: PART-TIME

 

Summary of Position

We’re looking for a Finance Officer to help us in our mission of providing philanthropic resources to our community so that all people can lead generous, independent, and creative lives. Each year, we provide over $3M in grants and scholarships to the community and aid donors with their philanthropic intentions. The Finance Officer is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance of the financial records, including: recording financial transactions, accounts payable/receivable, reconciling bank and investment statements, processing grants, and assisting with completion of annual audit with leadership from our CPA firm.

 

What you will be doing

• Record and process deposits, accounts receivable and payable, invoices, expense coding and data entry
• Perform monthly bank and investment reconciliations
• Produce monthly financial reports for the Board of Trustees
• Process grants and generate monthly grant reports
• Work with the CPA firm on preparation for the annual audit, 990, and periodic reports
• Assist in donor customer service activities
• Assist with Human Resources requirements and reports

About you

• You have demonstrated experience with finance or accounting
• You are customer service oriented and able to engage with donors and our nonprofit community
• You are highly organized and attentive to detail. A dedication to quality and accuracy
• You are skilled in using computer software and systems, including email, spreadsheets, Zoom
• You are discreet and able to respect and honor our donors’ privacy
• You have the ability to multitask, organize, and effectively manage your workload all while remaining flexible in all aspects of work-related actions
• You appreciate the uniqueness and differing perspectives and embrace our Equity, Diversity, and Inclusiveness values

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of experience in accounting or finance
• Experience with accounting software
• Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc) or Google Chrome (Docs, Sheets, etc) apps

Highly Sought-After Qualities

• Bilingual in Spanish and English
• Experience working remotely
• Experience working in the nonprofit sector with knowledge of community foundations

Specifics

Salary: $30
Hours: Part-time, 15 hours per week, flexible schedule; vacation time; 401K match
Training: Training specific to Community Foundation policies and procedures will be provided.
