Gun violence has a tremendously destructive impact in our community, from suicide to homicide, to accidental death of children and family members due to unsafe storage, and lack of intervention with at-risk individuals. There are innumerable reasons to take action on these highly preventable, tragic trends. The GVR group values the life of each person. The hurt of one in a community is felt by all. If even one life is saved, family and community members are spared a tragic and unnecessary death and we will have accomplished our goal. With the proper publicity, and outreach to community organizations, schools, and other special populations, we will be able to impact many. It is also well known that the impact of gun violence disproportionately affects members of minority and disadvantaged communities.
