Community Food Share’s mission is to eliminate hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties through engagement, collaboration, and leadership.
For over 40 years, Community Food Share’s mission has been to end hunger in Boulder and Broomfield Counties. We empower people to achieve equitable access to nourishing food through the programs we and our partners offer. The strategic pillars we operate under are to FEED our neighbors by optimizing the distribution of nourishing food; to build COMMUNITY with our partners, donors, and community members to strengthen services; to SUSTAIN our participants and staff, as well as the environment, by efficiently sourcing safe, quality food; and to EDUCATE AND EVALUATE to ensure we are meeting our neighbors’ needs and advocating for public policies that will create lasting change for the very common and very real issue of food insecurity.
Services to Longmont in 2024 took food to 2,200 households via Blue Spruce Neighbors delivery to seniors’ homes and via Mobile Pantries. Another 3,739 Longmont residents shopped our Louisville pantry.
Individuals and families, work and association groups are all welcome to tour our warehouse and Feeding Families pantry with advance notice. We love to host! Volunteers are always needed for food drives in the community, on-site sorting of donated and rescued food items, pantry re-stocking, hosting neighbor at our Mobile Pantries in the community, and offering to drive senior meals to their homes in our Boulder and Broomfield county service area. This year we are teaming up with Earth’s Table all-volunteer gardens in Boulder County and will be able to send our garden-loving volunteers to join those planting and harvesting crews to benefit CFS. We welcome attendance at our special events. In 2025, those will include a Farm to Fork meal and auction event, our first-ever “Rhythm and Roots” music festival in July at Left Hand Brewing, and the beloved Turkey Trot run on Thanksgiving morning! https://communityfoodshare.org/volunteer/
