The mission of Greenwood since its inception in 1982 has been two-fold: rehabilitation of wildlife, including the treatment and release of sick or injured wildlife and orphaned or abandoned baby animals, and education of the public to prevent or minimize human-wildlife interactions and provide humane solutions when such encounters occur.
Greenwood is the largest wildlife rehabilitation center treating wild birds, waterfowl, and mammals along the Front Range from north of Pueblo to the Wyoming border. We treat thousands of animals annually, representing over 200 species. Founded in 1982, we are a nonprofit that relies on the generosity of our supporters to make our work possible.
Our commitment to providing comprehensive care for wildlife goes beyond just rehabilitation. We also focus on public education and outreach programs, aiming to foster a greater understanding and appreciation for wildlife and their habitats. By engaging with the local community, Greenwood strives to promote coexistence and sustainable practices that benefit both wildlife and humans.
There are many ways to get involved through donations, volunteering, or providing a release site, among many other things! Please see our link below to find out how to get involved.
