Mission

The mission of BCC is to mobilize the local community and partners to care for the environments we impact as climbers and enrich the outdoor experience for all.

The BCC’s vision is to have the best cared-for crags (climbing areas) in the country.

The BCC is a regional organization operating within a 500-square-mile area from Staunton State Park to Rocky Mountain National Park. The BCC operates Five Core Programs: Trail Stewardship, Anchor Replacement, Human Waste Mitigation, Eagle and Raptor Monitoring, and Advocacy. BCC’s work is critical to mitigating human impacts that are causing recreation areas to be unsustainable. We help restore biologically critical habitats and corridors to reduce ecosystem fragmentation, protect watersheds vital to clean water, create sustainable landscapes by diverting human waste and sedimentation, and restore riparian zones. Annually, we organize volunteer opportunities totaling 7,000+ hours, a value of over $250,000 annually. (Or the equivalent of 3-4 extra employees a year)

Notable Areas we work: Staunton State Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Indian Peaks Wilderness, Boulder Canyon, Eldorado Canyon State Park, Clear Creek Canyon, including St Vrain Canyon, and Button Rock State Park
