A-PAL promotes individual and collective action in multiculturalism through the development and hosting of cultural, educational, performance, and artistic projects and events, as well as by encouraging active participation in city and school district initiatives, and student mentorship. Our flagship Lunar New Year Festival (LNY) is a multicultural event that is free and open to the entire Longmont community, hosting 2000 people from over 90 cultural backgrounds. A-PAL encourages people of all backgrounds and ages to work together to bring this festival to life. LNY promotes inclusivity and diversity by creating a positive, fun, and interactive environment for cultural learning and exchange, allowing people of all backgrounds to develop confidence and forge bonds in the production process.
An important aspect of A-PAL’s LNY is our focus on student mentorship. LNY is a long-term project, engaging 125 students annually from throughout the St. Vrain Valley School District as project managers and event volunteers.
A-PAL welcomes sponsors and volunteers. Please contact Rita Liu at apalconnect@aol.com or visit https://www.apalconnect.org/get-involved/
