Rise Against Suicide (Rise) was founded in 2009 to support the growing number of youth 19 and under in Boulder County and surrounding areas experiencing suicidal ideation. Rise believes every young person at risk of suicide should have access to the mental health treatment that they need and deserve. Rise’s mission is to help young people at risk of suicide by removing barriers and providing timely access to funded therapeutic support, helping them to find hope and healing. To accomplish this, Rise connects the youth at risk for suicide to a licensed therapist within 48-72 hours and funds 10-12 therapy sessions. In addition, Rise covers the cost of the therapist to go into the school or a community setting, if needed. Rise encourages the engagement of parents, guardians, and trusted adults in the process because 360-degree support provides the best outcomes.
