FSN is a culturally diverse coalition that cultivates a genuino, transparente, and liberating space to authentically and effectively address systemic food access. We learn, grow and thrive by acknowledging inequities and oppressions while honoring our differences to build confianza and foster systems of shared poder and leadership. The coalition has three committees: Hunger Relief System, Equity & Power Sharing, and Policy and Advocacy Committee. Current initiatives include supporting small food retailers in offering more fresh foods, assisting food pantries and banks with collaborative purchasing, and advocating for changes to land use codes that allow for increased local food production.
In addition to the above work, FSN has a Longmont-specific project to address food access transportation barriers through advocacy and CSA delivery programs in low-income, low-access neighborhoods.
