More about this organization
In 2024, El Comité supported 3,257 individuals with 3,744 services, and expects to assist 3,250 participants in 2026 providing:
- Resource Navigation & Case Management: We assist community members in accessing services and resolving diverse issues. We help people obtain ITINs and driver’s licenses, respond to domestic violence, child welfare, housing and immigration-related crises. The team also addresses wage theft, and scams, refers clients to the Boulder County Housing Stabilization Program (HSP) and has our own direct assistance funds. In addition, our case managers provide critical support to families facing detention or deportation.
- Legal Support: El Comité connects individuals to consults with trusted local immigration, criminal, and civil law attorneys for low-cost consultations. Starting this fall, we will offer hundreds of virtual immigration consults for $25, and in October 2025, El Comité will add a full-time immigration attorney to our staff to provide affordable representation.
- Know Your Rights & Emergency Preparedness: Monthly events educating legal rights and how to protect one’s family and assets in today’s political climate. Over 200 individuals trained in 2025.
- Educational Programs: Accessible English (ESL), and U.S. Citizenship or GED test prep. ESL sessions cost $25 for 5 weeks, GED classes and citizenship classes are free. A second beginner ESL class will launch in Q4 2025.
After 45 years, El Comité remains a trusted, vital, responsive, and empowering force for immigrant and Latino families in Boulder County.
