Mission
The Longmont Youth Symphony (LYS), is an honors symphony orchestra chartered to teach advanced, middle and high school student musicians in the St. Vrain Valley and nearby school districts of Northern Colorado. With the help of its directors, staff, volunteers, and board, and through its ensembles and public performances, the LYS helps its students develop their skills and spread the love of music throughout our communities.

Our members are middle school and high school aged kids who want to improve their music skills through advanced preparation and performances. Our public concerts are held three times each season. Our collaborations with other community music ensembles brings our program and our kids to a larger community audience.
