Mission

Our mission to build a diverse community that cares for the land informs that equity and inclusion are core elements of our organization and community. We believe that a thriving, inclusive community is essential to cultivating the sustainability and stewardship of the environment. By embracing individuals from all backgrounds, experiences, and perspectives, we ensure that our collective efforts to protect and nurture the land are stronger and more impactful.

In 2024, we completed 189 stewardship projects to improve habitats and trails in Colorado. In addition, we held 23 training courses, teaching 300 attendees new skills that enabled them to become more engaged in outdoor stewardship. Between our projects and training courses, 4,019 volunteers contributed 28,081 hours valued at $940,433! Here are just a few of the impacts our volunteers had:

  • Planted 10,401 plants, shrubs and trees
  • Performed 25 miles of trail maintenance
  • Restored over 10 acres of streamside habitat
  • Restored over 1 mile of stream channel or shoreline
  • Performed 12 acres of fuels treatment to reduce the risk of catastrophic wildfires
  • Built 152 structures to control erosion and retain water on the landscape, helping to restore fish and wildlife habitat
