Andy Rutt is the Nonprofit Management Intern at the Longmont Community Foundation this summer. Born and raised in Longmont, he is a Niwot High School graduate. Andy got his first taste of community service as president of his school’s Key Club, an experience that prompted him to pursue a career in the nonprofit sector. Andy is grateful to have the opportunity to learn from the Longmont Community Foundation this summer.
He is currently a rising junior at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio, where he is majoring in Individualized Studies and Entrepreneurship, with a minor in Linguistics. He is studying the intersection of the nonprofit sector and social services for older adults.
On campus, Andy is involved in activities that reflect his broader interests. He works as a Resident Assistant in his dormitory, interns with Miami University’s Government Relations Network, and is a member of the Language & Computation Lab, where his team is examining how human bias influences artificial intelligence.
Outside of school and work, Andy enjoys finding tranquility in Longmont’s natural areas. This summer, he looks forward to exploring the Longmont Community further.
