At Least One Scholarship: $1,000 awarded each year.
Eligibility:
Educational Background:
Must have received a high school diploma.
Must have completed at least 30 college credit hours.
Must have a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.0.
Current Education Status:
Must be currently working towards an undergraduate degree, graduate degree, or certificate at an accredited two-year or four-year college or university in the United States (full-time or part-time).
Career Focus:
Must be pursuing a career that promotes equity for women and girls, education, health, or in fields where women are currently underrepresented.
Residency/Graduation Requirement:
Must have graduated from a St. Vrain Valley School District High School or currently reside within the St. Vrain Valley School District.
Additional Requirements:
Use of Funds:
The scholarship funds must be applied to education within 12 months of the award date.
The scholarship may be used for tuition and fees only. Award amounts may be used for one semester/term or split between semesters/terms.
Reapplication:
Prior recipients of the AAUW Longmont Scholarship are eligible to re-apply.
Restrictions:
The program does not fund Continuing Education Units (CEUs), Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) certifications, or similar courses required for state licensing renewal or salary advancement.
Purpose:
The AAUW strives to break through educational and economic barriers so that all women have an equal chance. Through advocacy, education, and research, AAUW advances gender equity for women and girls. The purpose of this scholarship program is to provide scholarships to encourage women to pursue higher education in order to increase their ability to have a positive impact in their field and community, including women returning to school to update their knowledge/skills.
