Some donors choose to stay involved through advisory relationships, while others name a representative for the advisory committee to assist in the selection of recipients. This is a super easy and convenient way to support students at no extra cost to you! You can link your King Soopers reward card and as you shop King Soopers donates annually to the Longmont Community Foundation based on your percentage of spending. All donations from King Soopers Community Program will go directly to the Ascend St Vrain Scholarship Program.
Steps for linking your reward card:
1. Sign in to your digital account.
2. Go to “Rewards”
3. Click on “Community Rewards”
4. Enter “RS386 “ and “Longmont Community Foundation” will appear
5. Select “Longmont Community Foundation” from the list and click “Save”.

Maria Padilla, the 2023 Arapahoe Pass Recipient, graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May 2025 with her bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in marketing. Maria got her Associate of Arts degree with a Sociology Designation from Front Range Community College. She is a first-generation student who juggled outside activities for her major, school, and work.
Maria participated in a social and behavior research training program by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. She conducted research on campus, which was the highlight of her last semester.
Maria is starting up a business that supports the community. She hopes to combine her passion for sociology and
marketing to aid location nonprofit organizations through consulting projects. Maria writes, “This scholarship has made it possible for me to achieve my educational and career goals. This has been a once in a lifetime experience. I believe I am a small part of the seeds of generosity being planted by the Longmont Community Foundation that will help contribute to the current and future well-being of our community.”
