Scholarship Funds

The creation of a scholarship fund can be structured to benefit students at any education level or for a specific institution.

Whether you create a new scholarship program or contribute to one of the Longmont Community Foundation’s existing ones, your gift directly benefits students in our community- from preschool to post graduate. These scholarships make it possible for students to achieve their lifetime goals and dreams.

Some donors choose to stay involved through advisory relationships, while others name a representative for the advisory committee to assist in the selection of recipients. Either way, please contact us at 303-678-6555 to learn more about establishing a scholarship fund at the Longmont Community Foundation.

Maria Padilla

A young woman wearing a white dress and red graduation stole stands on a rooftop parking lot, holding a blue graduation cap high in the air with a bright smile. The city skyline, with tall modern buildings and a clear blue sky, provides a celebratory urban backdrop.

Maria Padilla, the 2023 Arapahoe Pass Recipient, graduated from Metropolitan State University of Denver in May 2025 with her bachelor’s degree in sociology and a minor in marketing. Maria got her Associate of Arts degree with a Sociology Designation from Front Range Community College. She is a first-generation student who juggled outside activities for her major, school, and work.

Maria participated in a social and behavior research training program by the Collaborative Institutional Training Initiative. She conducted research on campus, which was the highlight of her last semester.

Maria is starting up a business that supports the community. She hopes to combine her passion for sociology and marketing to aid location nonprofit organizations through consulting projects. Maria writes, “This scholarship has made it possible for me to achieve my educational and career goals. This has been a once in a lifetime experience. I believe I am a small part of the seeds of generosity being planted by the Longmont Community Foundation that will help contribute to the current and future well-being of our community.”
