Grant Programs

The Longmont Community Foundation carries out its mission of improving life in Longmont and the St. Vrain Valley by investing in the expertise of nonprofit organizations.  Some programs require specific applications. Please read the requirements and contact us if you have additional questions.

  • Live & Give Longmont

    The Live & Give Longmont Grants Program awards grants annually to nonprofit organizations that benefit residents of the St. Vrain Valley, including Longmont and surrounding areas.  Grants to support general operating are awarded in the seven areas of Animals, Arts, Civic, Education, Environment, Health and Human Services.

    The deadline to submit a grant is January of each year (check the grants portal below for the specific date).  Final grant decisions will be made by early March.  The Longmont Community Foundation encourages all applicants to contact The Foundation to discuss any question related to your application.   • AAUW Community Action Grant

    The Community Action Grant Fund of the Longmont Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) awards funds to nonprofit organizations whose projects meet the following qualifications:

    • Projects will have a particular focus on the AAUW mission of Advancing gender equity for women and girls through research, education, and advocacy.
    • Projects will be nonpartisan in nature and will fall within the geographic boundary of the St. Vrain Valley School District.
    • Applications are due in April of each year. Notification of award(s) will be no later than May 1st.

  • Left Hand Giving Circle

    Left Hand Giving Circle is a group of local women committed to improving our community through philanthropic donations and group volunteer projects. More information can be found on Left Hand Giving Circle’s website.  Twice a year, Left Hand Giving Circle provides up to $7,500 in grants (early spring and fall).  Deadlines and instructions are provided on the Application Portal Link.

  • Alchemy Fund
    The Alchemy Fund annual provides two $7,500 grants to nonprofits and qualified charities that work to improve the lives of children (Birth to 3rd grade).  These can include nonprofits that prepare children to reach their full potential through creative learning techniques, those that train and engage teachers in new methods and techniques for educating children, or those that provide physical activities that help keep children better able to learn and grow.  Application is open in spring of each year
  • Your Story

    Stories have the ability to impact, engage and motivate donors. While facts and figures are sometimes forgotten, a good story accompanied by a meaningful picture is remembered and often shared with others. Besides the possibility of receiving a $1,000 grant award and sharing your story on LCF’s website and Facebook page, it will give you another way to communicate your message. One runner-up will also receive a $500 grant award.  Awards are distributed in Spring of each year
