Mark Martinez Scholarship

Scholarship Amount:

  • One-Time Scholarship: Up to $10,000 awarded to a Frederick High School senior.

Eligibility:

  • School Enrollment:
    • Must be a senior at Frederick High School.
  • Educational Plans:
    • Must wish to pursue a four-year college degree.
  • Academic Requirement:
    • Must have a minimum GPA of 2.50 with no F’s on the transcript.

Application Requirements:

  • Transcript: Applicants are required to upload their transcript.
  • Short Answer Questions: Applicants must answer five short answer questions.
  • Video Submission: Applicants must submit a 2-3 minute video as part of their online application.

Purpose:

  • In Memory of Mark Martinez: This Scholarship Fund was created to honor the life of Mark Martinez who passed away suddenly on April 17, 2017.  A native of the Carbon Valley, Mark attended Frederick schools and graduated from Frederick High School in 1992. Mark was employed by the Town of Firestone and made his home in the community. Mark felt at home in the outdoors, he found tranquility in camping, hunting, fishing, and sports. He also enjoyed music, traveling, and spending time with family and friends. Mark loved to entertain and make people laugh with his charismatic personality. Most of all Mark loved his family. He was a devoted husband and doting father. There truly wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do to make them happy. Mark enjoyed all aspects of life and definitely left his mark on all he came in contact with.
