Mission

The Early Childhood Council of Boulder County (ECCBC) is on a mission to ensure every child in Boulder County thrives. We believe all children deserve access to nurturing care, education, and the support they need during critical early years. We are an independent nonprofit that rallies support and resources to provide quality early childhood experiences by focusing on four distinct priorities.

  1. Supporting Children and Families: We support families from all backgrounds ensuring they have access to the information and resources needed to navigate the childcare system. This includes providing guidance to families on available childcare options and placement support, financial assistance programs, and other support services tailored to their needs.
  2. Improving Workforce Stability: We are committed to supporting childcare providers by equipping them with resources, training, and professional development opportunities. We do this by offering regular professional development trainings throughout the year specific to childcare licensing regulations, health and safety, trauma-informed care, child development and social-emotional learning.
  3. Enhancing Program Quality: We work directly with childcare providers to enhance their program’s quality through both the state’s quality rating system and through the implementation of certified best practices in childcare settings. Each year, we deploy quality coaches who are early childhood experts to childcare programs to provide hands-on coaching and consulting.
  4. Addressing Systemic Challenges: We advocate for systemic changes that address the interconnected issues impacting the early childhood system in our community. This includes collaborating with community partners, policymakers, and other stakeholders to identify gaps in service delivery and develop innovative solutions to address them. Further, we prioritize dismantling systemic inequities and fostering a culture of inclusion and modernization within the childcare system.
