Mission

The Food Security Network (FSN) is a coalition spanning Boulder and Broomfield counties, uniting grassroots and grasstop stakeholders with a mission to achieve significant and sustainable systemic changes, thereby enhancing equitable food access. Organized by FSN Facilitator Erika Wey since January 2020, the coalition comprises three committees: Hunger Relief System, Equity & Power Sharing, and Policy and Advocacy Committees.

To ensure the coalition’s work is equitable and relevant, FSN pays community members with lived experience in food insecurity to participate in the coalition. There are currently four stipend community members from Broomfield County.

More about this organization

The funding for community member stipends can be difficult to secure, particularly because it is a unique grassroots initiative that does not always fit neatly into traditional funding categories.
