Specific Eligibility
- To a current student pursuing a teaching degree at the University of Northern Colorado (UNC).
Academic Requirement
- Must be pursuing a bachelor’s degree in teaching at UNC.
- Must be enrolled as a full-time student, with a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester for undergraduate students at UNC.
- Must have completed at least 30 college credit hours at the time of application.
- Must have a cumulative college GPA of at least 3.0.
Amounts Awarded
- One-Time Scholarship: $5,000 awarded.
Purpose
In Memory of Geneva Smithlin: This scholarship was created to honor Geneva Smithlin, sister of Henry Braly, the founder of The Braly Family Foundation. Geneva graduated from the University of Northern Colorado (formerly Colorado State College) with a teaching degree in 1963.
Use of Funds
- Scholarship award is restricted to tuition, fees, required books and supplies, room & board, and other direct educational expenses related to study at University of Northern Colorado pursuing a teaching degree for the upcoming fall semester.
- Award amounts will be split between semesters.
Application Details
- College transcript including fall grades, resume, and short answer questions
- NOTE: If deemed necessary to select a recipient, finalists may be required to submit a short 2-3 minute video for the final selection process.
